Who We Are

SelfDownloader is a free, browser-based media downloader hub built for everyday users who want a simple, clean way to save videos, music, thumbnails, and documents from the platforms they use every day.

We are a small, focused team of developers and digital product builders who got tired of the same problem: every free downloader site on the internet was either cluttered with fake download buttons, broken after a week, or buried under so many pop-up ads that finding the actual download was harder than it should be.

SelfDownloader was our answer to that problem. We built it to be exactly what we wanted ourselves — a tool that works, stays clean, and treats users with respect. No misleading buttons. No forced redirects. No "download our app first." Just paste your link, pick your format, and save your file.

Every tool on this site is free. Every tool runs in your browser. Nothing to install. No account to create.

Why We Built It This Way

We made three decisions early on that define everything about SelfDownloader:

Free, always. We believe access to your own media — videos you want to save offline, music you want to listen to without streaming, documents you need to reference — should not cost money. Every tool is free with no limits and no premium tier.

Clean, always. We do not use fake download buttons. We do not redirect users to unrelated sites. We do not use pop-up ads that interrupt the download experience. We run standard, honest advertising to keep the service running — but never at the expense of the user experience.

Private, always. We do not store your download history. We do not log the URLs you paste into our tools. We do not sell user data. What you download is your business. Our full Privacy Policy explains this in detail.

Our Commitment to Users

SelfDownloader is updated regularly. The platforms we support — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and others — change how they serve content frequently. When that happens, our tools can break temporarily. We monitor for this and push updates proactively so that you rarely experience a failed download.

We also take user feedback seriously. If a tool is broken, if a format is missing, or if you want to see support for a new platform, we want to hear about it. Every message sent through our contact page is reviewed by a real person.

Legal Use

SelfDownloader is built for personal, offline use of publicly accessible content. We support downloading for the purpose of offline playback, personal reference, and legitimate personal archiving.
